The inn is nice and in a lovely location. There are minor things, such as rust in the bathtub, that make it less than perfect. But, hey, it is an old house. Most of the home has been beautifully restored. The rooms are clean, tidy and nicely decorated. Our biggest negative was the owner and his strictly enforced (and reinforced) rules. We started receiving texts early in day to remind us of the firm 6p arrival time. When we pulled onto the property he ran out to our car to make certain we parked properly. The directives continued with a tour of the room to demonstrate how to correctly raise and lower the shades and to make certain we read the guidelines posted in the room. His omnipresence continued throughout our visit. While well intentioned, it would be better if he tapped the brakes a bit. It was not the relaxing visit we had hoped for.

Awesome experience at Idlwilde Inn. the room was very nice and spacious with a huge shower in the bathroom. The morning breakfasts were even better with a new delicious option each morning and eating on the front porch with a great views. the staff is very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. an over all wonderful place to stay to explore Watkins Glen

The Inn was beautiful with all the detailed touches one could ask for. We enjoyed all the personal attention and welcoming warmth from Marcus and his wife. The breakfasts are to die for and a real treat both in flavor and presentation. We will most certainly be coming back. This is an experience you do not want to miss out on!

We only had one night here during our stay in the finger lakes, and we wish it would have been longer. The location is great, walkable to many thing around Watkins glen! The host was wonderful, very organized and helpful w check in and stay information, recommendations, and great w communication! The breakfast was delicious and you won’t leave hungry! The property was very spacious so it still felt very intimate even though there are many rooms. We stayed in the carriage house, room 16, there’s so much charm and space- we loved it! We would definitely return. Marcus was a fabulous inn keeper who has thought of everything! Such a unique bed and breakfast, can’t wait to return!
