I worked there for a work experience.Can confirm that the owner doesn't care about the animals and even the employees. A lot of the problems come straight from the owner's own mishandling thing, and not the employees. I love animals, but to see this place is straight depressing.

The shelter board and director have let the city of Fremont down as well as the animals. This organization doesn’t appear to understand animal control, customer service, animal adoption, networking, serving the community, etc. As a result they have created a bad reputation for Fremont instead of creating a positive environment that draws people to Fremont and to the shelter to adopt.

This is possibly the worst run Humane Society in the country. There have been so many complaints and wrongdoings at this facility over the past two years but NOTHING has been done about it. The person running the "shelter" has no business being anywhere near a place with the word HUMANE in its title... If you want to adopt a pet, I would strongly recommend another shelter.

You would have to call and ask but I believe there were some teens helping out. It is a wonderful organization and great people.

Dodge County Humane Society picks up wandering dogs. My wife and I discovered our dog, Benjamin, missing after only just seeing him 10 minutes prior. Thanks to a nice couple a few blocks away placing a call to DCHS, Benjamin was back home with us within an hour or so!😊
