This is a great park for light hiking and well worth driving to from other areas in the Unifour. They recently opened a connector trail (2 miles one way on the green Valdese Greenway trail) to McGalliard Falls Park, which adds a nice destination. There is a pretty neat swinging bridge at the 1.5 mile mark on this trail. My favorite parts of the park were the great views of Lake Rhodhiss and the native wildflowers lining the trails. Everything is really well maintained and there is also a new dog park to enjoy.
