I WENT TO THE SURROGATES OFFICE WITH A LOT OF PROBLUM'S WITH THE DEATHS IN MY FAMILY, I WAS HELPED BY A WOMAN NAMED SHELIA ,SHE WAS THE KINDEST PERSON I HAVE MET IN A LONG TIME, SHE TOOK TIME TO LISTEN & HELP ME WITH MY PROBLUM. SHE ALSO POINTED ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION ON HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THE OTHER PAPERWORK THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE. IF YOU EVERY HAVE TO GO THERE I CAN ONLY HOPE SHELIA IS THE PERSON YOU GET TO HELP YOU TO. SHE MADE THE PROCESS EASER & LESS STRESSFUL THAN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Im guessing you need to go to the county clerks office. Thats where deeds & titles are held. Main entrance is on Delaware St, corner of Broad & Delaware
A Short Certificate is something you use to handle the estate of the deceased. You take it to a bank to close accounts and things like that. You need to make an appointment to get them. You'll need the notarized will, death certificate, and a checkbook. It isn't free and they charge per page of will along with a fee per certificate.
Power of Atty ends when the person dies. You are the sole Beneficiary that is between you and the Ins company. No Power of Atty is necessary I think only a death certificate and your identification.
