Why would a hungry family need an " authorized agency" certificate to get food? Who authorizes their need? This is ridiculous!

Loaves and Fishes of Union County, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-based community food pantry program, that offers food on an emergency situation. We partner with local agencies to deem the urgency of needed services, whether that be food, health care, utility aid, and more. This helps us to avoid abuse or over serving community members who are not working with our agencies for overall assistance. Working with these agencies allows us to obtain grants to continue our not-for-profit work. The partnering agencies provide the authorization to us so that the services provided and available grants are still offered to our organization - to service the community in an emergency situation. This also helps these agencies to obtain their funding from higher government agencies. Obtaining an agency authorization is a simple process of a phone call or meeting, so to provide more than just food.
Hello Mary, thank you for reaching out. We are an emergency based food pantry, ran by volunteers only. Unfortunately, we do not have a delivery service available at this pantry. If you are able to send someone to pick up for you that would be fine. You just need to establish a referral from one of our agency partners. Please see our Facebook page in the photo gallery there is a list of agencies there. We look forward to helping you further.
