Another amazing historical reminder of our beginings as the greatest country on earth. Its organization as a working village comunity & how they worked is amazing. Definately a must see. If you can look at the old original buildings & picture in your mind how life was then, you'll love it

We took a tour of the Wharton mansion. Our tour guy was informative and kind. A lot of great history on that land.

Wharton is a forest. Great place for family hikes and watching wildlife.

No, however Historic Smithville is 20 minutes away and the Smithville village offers bed and breakfasts/rooms and there is an inn with restaurants and cute little shops. There is also a nature reserve down the street from it. 615 E Moss Mill Rd, Smithville, NJ 08205 If you go to their website you can find an event calender. There are two big festivals a year. Also near by in Chatsworth there is the huge cranberrry festival (even closer to batsto) in the fall. If you go the right time of year you can do all three on a weekend.
Rest room are open by the visitor center from like 9 am to 4 pm.
There is a food cart vendor usually in the parking lot on weekends. We bring our own and picnic in the picnic area.
Drinking fountains are available by the restroom facilities (visitor center and village bathroom). There is a also a vending machine near the parking lot by the visitor center that sells refreshments.
