A lot of this review is coming from my girlfriend who took her first trip to Illinois to meet my family. I picked Super8 in Marion as I am familiar with the Super8 chain and have had multiple stays with the chain. First off, I think major chains should update ALL of the major online media sources of which they are a part. We had no idea this location was undergoing a major renovation. There was a lot of trash in front of the hotel. The interior wasn't much better as the entire second floor was the floor that was being redone. Our room was ok, not great, but I have paid the same for better rooms in other Super8 locations, which is what I expected. There were a few issues with the room. The TV mount looked like it had been knocked off the wall and repaired quickly, hanging crooked. That didn't didn't bother us as much (didn't watch much TV) as the inability to close the sun shades on the window completely. The staff that we interacted with was mixed. One was very friendly and another made us feel that we were an annoyance. So from now on I will call at the hotels I am interested in and call them about possible renovations, and other issues regarding the room. If I were traveling alone, I would stop at this location again, but if I'm traveling with friends or family, I might choose somewhere else.

For a budget motel this place is terrific. Friendly and accommodating staff. Secure building and well lit parking lot. Room showed it's age in spots, but it was clean and comfortable. Wifi strong, TV had decent number of channels. Fridge/Microwave worked and shower was hot. Breakfast was above average. Biscuits/gravy, make your own waffles. Cereal, breads and muffins. Location excellent. Next to highway but never heard a sound. Lots of restaurants nearby. Only issue was tricky to get into. Tucked behind a truck stop, accessed via a frontage road that is at a very busy intersection. But worth the minor inconvenience.

Great staff...easy-schmeezy on and off the highway. Nice, clean room & bathroom. Plenty of water pressure....showered & waterpik'd at the same time. Interior doors - quiet rooms - slept like a baby. Breakfast !!! Yay !!!! Waffles, etc. Stay here with you pet...only $15 extra and well worth it.

Horrible Experience. Although the room was fairly clean, it was very dated. Very low bed, hard pillows, walls and bathroom needing repair. Also there was no free breakfast there was coffee sort of but the entire lobby and dining area is totally under construction and a major mess! This hotel should not even be open at this point, when they're doing that kind of major repair work. Very disappointed! I basically wasted my free night!
