The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia is truly one of the best humane societies I have ever worked with. I have participated in the Adoption Angel Lock-In for the last 3 years and I’ve seen all the amazing work and care they offer for these animals in their care. I’ve toured the humane society as well and I’ve never seen any of the things that these reviews are saying. What I have seen, is hard working volunteers and employees, caring for these animals, cleaning their cages and stalls, and providing excellent care for them. I’ve had my animals vetted through their Healthy Pet Clinic and spayed through them as well. In addition to the excellent care that I’ve seen them provide, they also offer a wonderful community outreach program to help local families get their pets current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, FeLV/FIV tested, and provide lower cost flea,tick, and heart worm prevention. They also offer low cost spay/neuter services as well as helping communities that have a feral cat population through their TNR program. For those of you who have seen the post, I encourage all of you to do your research and not judge this amazing humane society off of one incident that has been posted. Look into all of the amazing work they do for their community and animals in their care. The incident that has been posted can and does happen at every other shelter, humane society, and veterinary clinic. Every volunteer and employee that works in any field with animals from shelters to full service vet clinics experience hateful comments that end in compassion fatigue, burnout, or even suicide. The animal field is not an easy one and has one of the highest suicide rates out of other medical professions. Before you leave a hateful review, at least do some unbiased research, and look at this humane society all together and all the hard work they’ve done throughout the years. Volunteer with them and see for yourself the amazing work they do.
