Can't say enough of good things about all of the staff and Dr.Holmes. He is the best!He can listen to your symptoms and problems and give you an educated guess and then confirm it with test,and is spot on. Wouldn't go to anyone else for any gastro problems! Very blessed to have him as a doctor for myself and my husband!

I cannot say enough good things about GAP. I called them on Monday, explained that I’d been to the ER and had been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. They’d had a cancellation and could see me for the first time the same day that I called. When I arrived, I filled out a minimal amount of paperwork and only waited 10 minutes in the waiting room before being called back. Dr. Connelly was highly competent and qualified. He listened to my entire history with the problem and I’d written everything down. He did a thorough exam, went over all my options, provided me with his credentials and recommended an endoscopy. I felt heard and I felt confident that Dr. Connelly planned to fully treat my condition. They scheduled the endoscopy the same week. When I arrived for the procedure, everybody was organized, kind, professional and comforting. Dr. Connelly was super attentive. Shane and another lady assisting nurse was also extremely attentive and comforting. I was in and out within an hour. Another lady walked me out to my car. I hardly even realized I’d had a procedure. I had no pain afterwards and felt great. Dr. Connelly provided me with pictures, explained what he found and gave me a plan of action. I have literally never received better healthcare in my life. From the first phone call and throughout the entire experience with GAP, I would rate them as superb. There’s bad healthcare out there, mediocre healthcare and then there’s GAP. If you want excellent healthcare that you can trust, make the drive to Gastroenterology Assoicates in Winston Salem. You’ll be glad you did.

Hi, Debra! We are an open-access practice, which means that those eligible for a colonoscopy screening don't require a pre-visit or a referral to schedule the procedure. I recommend that you give our scheduling experts a call at (336) 448-2427, option 1, and discuss your specific situation. In certain circumstances (i.e. patient needs a "surveillance" procedure due to a history of polyps, patient is having GI issues, etc.) they can also offer assistance on how to obtain a referral from the patient's primary care doctor.
