Always a great time when visiting Lake Charles. Nice swimming area. Pinic tables bathrooms with running water. Nice little playground area. Camping is also available for RV and tents. Also have boat launch.

Loved it! We just stayed for a day but it was a great pit stop. Our spot was on the water, nice and cool! Kids could go swimming and play outside. The campsite even had air conditioned private showers.

I grew up coming here about once a year and although it seems well maintained, it was very crowded. I generally visit state parks for the hiking trails now, and although there are 3 here, I only enjoyed one of them, none are wheelchair friendly, and they are all beginner level.

Really like this place, just went the wrong time of, lots of Mosquitoes. We stay in the AAA (full hook ups) but the staff takes great care of everything, bath/ showers were super clean, per my friend. We had site #81 but I don't know if their's a bad site there. Their's different ways to get here, it is a year round campground, so if you're looking for something in this area, we may see you there...sorry my pictures aren't that helpful...

Yes it's open and the beach isn't as crowded as normal it's kinda nice.

No but if you live far away call them first and ask if swimming beach is open. We have been there several times and it has been closed.

I'll bet they do. Like the said ask the park rangers or call the park. They have a nice screened in pavilion and I saw a reunion or company picnic going on this last August.

No they do not. But they do have a place like a cabin i think its called a yurt. That can be rented. Just call the office.

Nope some sites have electric and water hook up and some do not the ones that have electric and water are lik 25.50 a night the ones without is cheaper lol
Yes, BUT only 100 people max. If you dont get there by SUPER early in the morning, youll be turned around, OR have the choice to wait, until someone leaves although there is always a line.
Yes, but only 100 people are allowed in the day use area at a time so it's important to get there early if it's a weekend visit.

Agree with Maria. Its a nice safe place for family. Best to contact them on rates. They have different areas. Camp sites, swim area, so on. It is a nice little town but be sure to bring all u need. Thers isnt any stores very close, esp during the night.
There are no HP restrictions for Lake Charles! (Unlike a few other lakes in Arkansas that have 10 HP Restriction or outright ban combustion engines.)
