Amazing experience! Friendly people that are providing a great yearly experience for my Family. Choosing and cutting our Christmas tree each year is now a tradition at our house. My wife and 2 boys love the experience as well. Highly recommended!

After a failed Christmas tree visit to Penland tree farm on Saturday, December 4, I feel compelled to post to say how disappointed we were we’re with our experience. The website touted a wide array of many tree varieties and sizes available. After investing a day of driving, upon arrival, we found the selection limited to an extremely sparse offering of one variety of very small trees (<5 ft.). It seems reasonable and respectful to your customers to update the website and acknowledge the limited inventory available (as opposed to just the opposite) and save everyone lots of driving, emotional energy and wasted time. The cars were pouring in so we surely weren’t the only ones who encountered such a surprise. It was disappointing and frustrating….We will not be coming back.

Not often. You'll want to be there opening day to have half a chance.
They are usually open around Thanksgiving, but it comes so late this month I would check for sure. I would think it will be open earlier than the holiday.

Cost is based on tree species and height. We usually get a six or seven foot scotch pine and its around $35. Cost fluctuates a little year be year. Definitely a little less than a pop up tree lot in town, but the real value is im the family fun. We usually spend an hour minimum, sometimes two.
