I am healthcare POA for my best friend who was admitted to NHC rehab and eventually long-term care a few weeks ago. Because all patients are quarantined for 14 days I didn't get to see him for the 1st week. At this time due to abnormal labs they called me to inquire as to which hospital I wanted him sent . I was pleased since the previous rehab facility sent him to a hospital without informing me. Before his recent discharge his physician reiterated the importance of hydration . I called the facility's only number 6 times letting it ring until it dropped the call. This is a 192 bed facility.. I called the North Augusta police and asked if an officer could check. My friend called and said the nurse told him to call me.. I then received a call from his nurse who was upset explaining that she had other nursing responsibilities (I paraphrased it).She explained that the nurses were expected to answer the facility's phone on the weekends. I didn't know that and certainly wouldn't have expected that to be the case . I am a retired RN. I know the pressures of the profession. I in no way blamed the nursing staff for not answering the phone This morning I spoke to the administrator she assured me that someone forgot to put on the automated system for reaching your patients charge nurse there are a few other issues that I had about his motorized chair she immediately sent a message to physical therapy so I'm going to reevaluate NHC and give them four stars

It's a pandemic in this country and this Rehab is not testing visitors for the virus prior to entering the facility that is filled with elderly residents. This is ridiculous!! Whomever is in charge needs to be reported to the State Asap!!

Administrator is absolutely HORRIBLE! I would not send my pet hamster in that facility as long as she’s leading the facility.
