The worst experience ever with them during the death of my father. Me and my family will NEVER forget! After meeting with one of the directors for what was suppose to be an amicable scheduling of services, the other party and director presented us with power of attorney paperwork. They claimed that this paperwork gave us no say in the final arrangements of our dad. With the persistence of a family member that told us this was not true and to seek legal counsel we did. As a result, my siblings had to file a petition with the court and instead of being able to grieve our father's death we had to sit in a courtroom. Dickerson representatives, before the hearing even began, now wanted to be reasonable but we decided to let the ruling from the judge to affirm what we had not already been telling them. The judge ruled in favor of me and my siblings. The statute they were citing was not correct in THEIR interpretation. To make matters worse prior to the hearing Dickerson had held a wake at their facilities for our dad.... when the judge ruled in our favor and informed them they had to release my dad to a new funeral home, they removed all the clothing and undergarments from my dad and released him to Murray's Funeral. Imagine getting a call to tell you that you needed to purchase clothing for your dad. The level of unprofessionalism and apathy was evident in their treatment of the final remains of our dad and our family. **The only reason I edited my post and provided additional detail is the response from the owner. You did not obey the rules and regulations of the state of SC as the hearing proved. Here was your opportunity to do what was RIGHT and you chose not to.**

I must say GOD definitely gave Dickerson to us during the hardest times of burying our love ones. They helped us out in a immaculate way! Everything we requested was given to us and they went above and beyond to tend to our family needs. Before my Dad passed he saw the owner at a Chinese Restaurant and jokingly asked him if he could come lay in their casket to try it out(smh really Dad) well eventually when he did, that was our final goodbyes to his remains. Dickerson not only provided professionalism, they comfort us, prayed with us, and even things we requested at the last minute they fulfilled!!! My Dad home going celebration was definitely one to remember and to say it was a funeral everyone spoke highly about the service, how well it was coordinated and how good Dickerson had my Dad looking. I'm getting teary eye as I type this. Dickerson I can never thank you enough for all you've done for my family during such a hard time in our lives. You all are appreciated and we love y'all very much!! Continue to be just who y'all are because it really helps and makes a difference when one is grieving. My Dad's spirit, some know him as Mr Tenor with the Fabolous Sons of Grace is pleased, and the way you all help alleviate the stress from our family especially my mom is forever appreciated. From the time of receiving her remains, to the planning, to the services provided to me and my family. They show excellent professionalism and take great care and pride in their work.
