I've worked as a mechanic and avionics installer/technician for the last 18 years and it was a rewarding yet stressful job. I decided to have a life change so I applied to and was hired by Boeing as a Flightline Readiness Technician. I didn't know what to expect but I was completely surprised by how awesome it is to work for Boeing here in Charleston. They pay well with a comprehensive and impressive benefits package and my schedule isn't varied and random. I've truly enjoyed my time so far with the company and I can honestly see myself staying until retirement, something I never saw myself doing at previous jobs. As far as the building, unless you are a Boeing employee or contractor, very few people will ever see inside. It's kinda like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory except the Oompa Loompas work in shifts and get to leave the factory. Other than that, it's EXACTLY like the Chocolate Factory but Grandpa Joe is banned from entry because of his laziness and fraudulent disability claims. The 88-30 building is impressive and big, but instead of making chocolate we make big planes that are far more reliable than that ridiculous glass elevator. I highly recommend working here if you have the chance to.
