Clean, comfortable, affordable. Did I mention Bigfoot?! The great thing about this place is it is also HQ of the Kentucky Bigfoot Research Association (BFRO). I took my dad on our first ever father-son trip for a weekend in Kentucky filled with steak, bourbon, and Bigfoot. Charlie and Lyndsey were excellent hosts at the Clay City Inn. I arranged to have a private Bigfoot expedition (with Charlie and Lyndsey as our guides) in one of the local hot spots. Boy did we have a blast in the woods looking for the big hairy man. 10/10 would stay at this wonderful place (and go Squatchin’) again!

We had an excellent stay the room was very clean and the hotel was easy to get to and from and close to everything we went and did. The Bigfoot expedition on Saturday night was beyond exciting and my little guy had an awesome experience.

My brother and I were rolling into Clay City to play on the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway in his Jeep and were going to arrive way past their office hours for check in. Clay City Inn made sure we were able to get into our room - despite arriving even later than we anticipated - and there was plenty of parking for our large truck and large trailer. The room was nice and clean, and the sound of our truck's engine when we arrived was probably the loudest noise that day. The people are nice, the room is nice, and it's convenient to whatever you might be doing in the Daniel Boone National Forest. If you need a place to crash in this area, I highly recommend it.

This is such a nice and quiet place to stay. Its older and would benefit from some upgrading but we have found that wherever we have stayed in this area unless you pay the high prices they charge to stay in the Red River Gorge area. We have grandchildren in Winchester and whenever we are able to visit, my daughter likes to take the opportunity to do some sight seeing. We spent a day at the Natural Bridge and it was only 15 minutes away. We enjoyed talking with the new owners of the motel. Charlie was very good to share so many of his Big foot stories with us. Our room was very comfortable. It was around the back on the top floor. It was quaint and quite basic but was all we needed and good for the price. I would've liked to have had a coffee machine in the room but we were able to get some from the office. Overall we had a wonderful visit and will hopefully get to stay here again the next time we visit.
