A property I am helping sale(Local RE Agent) for an out of state client had a major water leak on a Saturday/Sunday and flooded a back portion and underneath of the home. One call to PuroClean and within an hour they sent a crew on a Sunday to start the tear out and cleanup! I cannot say enough about this company! They are fast, professional, very communicative and have been an overall joy to work with what was a horrible situation has turned to something positive. Not only is my seller getting peace of mind that she has the best working for her to get this fixed and done correctly, the buyer can also rest easy that they will have a new beautiful back portion of the home. I 100% recommend this company and their crew. I will personally be using them for any of my disaster needs in the future.

It is important to remove the water as quickly as possible and to dry all affected materials. This includes under cabinets, under walls in adjacent rooms, the subfloor, lower rooms where the water might have gone. Dehumidifiers and air movers can be used to dry these materials.

To remove soot and smoke from walls, furniture and floors, use a mild soap or detergent or mix together 4 to 6 tbsp. tri-sodium phosphate and 1 cup household cleaner or chlorine bleach to every gallon of warm water. Wear rubber gloves. Be sure to rinse surfaces with clear warm water and dry thoroughly.

How can you determine water damage in a house?

You can check the walls and ceilings for water stains, the floors for warping and buckling, and the pipes for corrosion, leaks, missing grout, and mold. Attics and basements may have damaged flooring, mildew or mold, dampness, and odors. Also, be sure to inspect the exterior of the home for cracked roof tiles, puddles, standing water, and whether the ground is sloping away from the house.
