The suspension footbridge is finally finished and flung back across the flowing river! Phoebe the dog was a bit apprehensive at first but enjoyed exploring this fantastically, entirely rebuilt footbridge andnow connected trail! Expansive and very expensive, this 'Build Back Better' funded, public works project is money well spent! It is at last provideing a much needed, enhanced recreational experience while visiting one of the nicer parks in greater Shelby.

I give this trail 5 stars because of the beautiful, diversity of the trail itself and also because it seems like it can be a fun adventure for fishing, bicycling, meeting new people and such. If you get the chance, i recommend checking out the old rail road bridge and in walk the short path in between the posts that leads to the river, pretty cool. Also, walk the concrete path to the bridge, jump on it for a bit, then keep going once the path turns to dirt. Enjoy!

Most of the trail was washed away I suppose. Alot of dead ends... one trail leads down to water side (kind of steep, to steep for a 5 yr old), another dead ends to a drop of, and another leads to a dead end with a septic tank or something. Not much of a trail anymore... bridge in pictures not there.

Bridge is broken. Should have read other reviews before coming here. Trail also seems like it's not maintained anymore.

Easily! Any season is great to enjoy this place!
Not yet but coming very soon! By Summer of '22.
Still a great place to walk approaching from Grover Av or Ingles Market, even though one cannot cross the river yet. Bridge is to be replaced soon.
