I purchased a 2021 rieju mr300 from these guys in November of 2021 and it was a great experience. The bike was prepped properly and filling out the paperwork was a breeze. They have very knowledgeable staff and probably the easiest salesman I have ever dealt with. Also they have good prices on oil and tires, not a ripoff like most dealerships. Really great cycle shop/dealer! Bought a Sherco here back in June and the sales process was awesome and so easy. I just had a warranty issue with the bike and the service folks took care of everything very quickly and got me back out riding. I just wished I lived closer so I could visit more often!

Town & Country within one phone call found the bike that was looking for and even in these times of high prices sold it below two other dealerships ! Edgar, sales manager, was great, easygoing, professional and efficient. The service department prepared the bike according to specific instructions at no charge. . The issue you are experiencing is generally a timing problem. Some of the possible problems could be - 1) Bad CDI box 2) A slipped flywheel because of broken locating key "woodruf key" in the engine crank system. Which will throw your hole timing set off and as you stated the bikes engine will actually run backwards due to the badly miss timed engine. Edit - @MichaelDonald Of course I'm glad I could be of service! I would recommend bringing the machine to a specialist and have them look it over to figure out what the issue is.
