I can no longer recommend this dealer. Bought Deere x304 from previous owner 13 years ago. It’s been an excellent mowing tractor. Took in to Ag Pro for Spring service (first dealer service with them as I normally do my own service with John Deere home service kits) asked for a service and belt/blade check and replacement if needed. They did basic service and returned. Said I didn’t need belt or blades and said they sharpened blades. Noticed it wasn’t mowing evenly but oh well I tried to live with it. 3 weeks ago the belt snaps so I call to have them pick it up. I asked them to replace belt and check blades as it hadn’t been mowing evenly. I get a call next day saying that belt snapped in two indicating a seized or dragging spindle. Also told a blade was bent and deck had a large impact dent. They recommended a new deck at a cost of $1,200. Not sure about labor. I had them return mower after sending me photos (I did not see a bent blade or deck in pictures and didn’t feel right about their recommendation). I paid them $180 for this non- repair which they said was discounted. I live about 4 miles away incidentally. Here is why I chose to write this review. I took my mower to an independent mower mechanic who found no damage to the deck or blades. Also both spindles were fine. For peace of mind I had him install a rotary brand deck rebuild kit (good quality) that included pulleys, spindles, blades and a new belt…for $400 including labor. Feels like Ag-Pro tried to take advantage of me, was dishonest about my mower being damaged and overcharged me to pick up and drop off my mower. John Deere makes excellent equipment. I would hesitate before buying and certainly avoid servicing here.
