We held the Washingtonville Alumni All Year Reunion this past weekend and I will say everyone had a great time! As one of the organizers, many people came to me to say how tasty the food was, how helpful the young staff was and overall complimentary on the venue. The appetizers were plentiful and delicious. A bit of a hiccup in the buffet, but there was certainly enough food to compensate, plus we were pleased with the choices the committee made. Thank you, Erin, and your wonderful staff!!

Washingtonville High School Reunion Dinner...the organizers had a Great Concept, and all graduates from many years past were having a great time...a minimal of appitizers and 3 passing items...one passing item was called an Eggroll...I have been in a kitchen for many years and i have never ever had an eggroll stuffed with what I ate and would call a flavorless Bread Stuffing...not stuffed with vegetables, but just unseasoned bread stuffing...dinner time came and table numbers were called to a self serve Buffet style dinner...our table and 3 others were not called...after about 30 minutes I got up and proceeded to serve my partner and myself...problem was no Broccoli Rabe...chicken francese was cold and dry...ziti was full as not many were choosing this item witch had very little sauce and over cooked... The sliced steak was empty...many graduates were waiting ...30 minutes later when the sliced steak came out I took a peice with green beans that replaced the Broccoli Rabe... At the table the green beens were excellently cooked...with no seasoning...the sliced steak cooked perfectly, but could not chew this cut of beef...for sure it was not steak...it was an improper cut of Beef with no marbling for what was being used as sliced steak...it was tough...texture was more like meat from bottom round...all in all the main meal was less them mediocre...I know that the serving staff were short handed and the Country club at Otterkill was having difficulty in the kitchen...with this all explained...I took a personal view that help in general is very very difficult to find in today's service business...with this said...ALL the service help, waitstaff, cleaners, and not counting behind the scenes...I counted 13 staffers on the dining floors with about 200 dinner guests..these young AND intelligent staff were the NICEST... CALMEST... RESPECTFULL...HARD WORKERS...that were NOT PROPERLY TRAINED...but hung in there...MY RESPECT GOES OUT TO THIS YOUNG STAFF...THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMITMENT TO YOURSELVES & YOUR FAMILY...this dinner at " The Country Club at Otterkill" had nothing to do with these servers...or the staff that day...this IS ALL ON MANAGEMENT... Management could have been more TRANSPARENT to the booking committee...
