As a long time Club member, I appreciate the courtesy extended to members and guests. Although the dining room was closed on this stay, the breakfast buffet was excellent. If your travels take you to midtown, the Club has a great location close to everything.

Came here for the Wednesday lobster night dinner. The 2.5 lb lobster was very tasty. I would recommed to stuff the lobster with crab meat for a little extra charge. The service was outstanding. The overall expense was around 100 with tax and tips excluding drinks. The overall experience was great.

So, my spouse gets an email yesterday asking her if she’s interested in joining the Cornell Club, as she took an online course at Cornell recently. (I received graduate degrees from Cornell some years ago.) As my wife happens to be in Manhattan this week, I suggest that she visit the club and look at the common areas and one or two of the guest rooms. She calls the club today, and the woman who answers is curt and without explanation says that my wife won’t be able to see any rooms, and is less than encouraging about my wife even seeing the common areas. Huh. Seems there’s a disconnect between the development team and the on-the-ground staff. It doesn’t bode particularly well for our interest in joining, even though a friend of mine loves his like membership at the Yale Club.
