There were security guards there at the entrance but they helped to make the line going in orderly. Polite mannersand service was fast.

Terrible. The woman admitting people is over the top rude and on a power trip. My son and I needed new cards so we went together. He’s a tall but a minor. We were not allowed to go in together. All of our paperwork was in one folder. I had to go in first and wasn’t allowed to step back out to hand him the folder. It was 3-4 steps back. This woman had to hand it to him and had the audacity to go through the folder for his paperwork. We had to be serviced by different clerks and I couldn’t even talk to him as I was being told to leave. There’s really no need to treat people with such disrespect. If you’re not happy with your job - get another one!

Everyone was friendly and efficient. I needed to change my name on my SS card. I brought the SS-5 form that I filled out online with me. I did not have an appointment. I was greeted and signed in as soon as I arrived. I was seated and waited less than 5 minutes before being called to the window. The entire process took 10 minutes.

I had low expectations for this beuracratic entity but my expectations were wildly exceeded. Everyone tries to be nastier then the next. they make old ladies stand outside in the 90 degree sun due to "COVID" with a mask while we're in August of 2022 already. The whole building is empty except for employees walking around trying to figure out how NOT to help someone. Third world county stuff.

I went today for a name change and no appointment was needed though they recommend it because you may go on a busy day and have a long wait. However, I was in and out in 10 minutes or less on a Friday afternoon.

On many occasions it is difficult for them to answer you but keep trying I recommend that you call in the morning
my husband just came from DR under application I-130 legal residence. He was told by the US Embassy in DR to wait 3 weeks for his social security card, but the three weeks past and he has not gotten the card. Can we make an appointment for his card?

yes,. with ORIGINAL documents, NO photocopys, along with the form ss-5 ...if you where not born in USA, u need to mail in a green card or if u became a citizen, mail in original passport... if u don't want to mail originals, take a number and wait....
