Our site was fine and had a beautiful view of the ocean. However, there was a path next to it (marked no dogs) that everyone used to walk their dogs. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out well for us, as we had 2 dogs with us. While the staff seemed nice, some clientele were snobby. One woman (in a group) walked by our camper with her dog and it resulted in a small accident for my husband trying to keep the dogs apart. She warned us that several people would be using that path. In fact, she kept using it, and would walk by and shake her head at us - almost as if taunting our dogs. Her friend got involved and told us we should exercise our dogs. The worst was when she accused us of knocking down a little girl who fell when running downhill! This campground is expensive, and I was pretty bummed to spend my last day inside to avoid confrontation. I couldn’t wait to leave. Moorings is all about the view. If you want to walk, it’s a small park and it’s just off of a busy highway, so it’s hard to go far on foot. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. There is not much beach unless the tide is out. It’s rocky shoreline, which I like. As for a rating, our experience was not good, but I’ll have to give the campground owners the benefit of the doubt and hope they don’t condone this behavior from their guests.

We arrived today. It is a small beautiful campground. Very friendly staff. They help you to your site. It is very clean. The campground is on the edge of the harbor and it is close to the town of Belfast, ME.

Our first long trip in our camper and first visit to Maine. So glad we picked this campground. The views were great and the staff was helpful. Had full hookups and one of the sites on the side. Some of the nicest fellow campers we have encountered, our neighbor helped us out with an issue with our black tank. The only negative was because the sites were grass, brought a lot of dirt in the camper. The location was great as there were lots of dining and activity options and just an hour drive to Bar Harbor. You can also easily walk down to the water and lots spots to see and look out on it. I would absolutely recommend this campground if you are visiting the area.

Regrettably, we only had 1 night at Moorings, but I would definitely come back, especially if I could land an oceanfront view! Beautiful place with friendly staff/owners. We had a 6.5 hr drive up to Moorings and our ETA was 7PM. At 4PM, we received a call from the staff, concerned that we hadn't checked in yet. We explained that we were driving and the time we would be there. They explained that the office would close at 6:30PM, and we should give them a call when we arrive. We arrived a little ahead of time - at about 6:45PM and were promptly attended to. They even helped me back in to our spot. The spots are great and level with fully functional hookups. The campgrounds are spacious and well-kept. Great and easy access to the beach, with a great view of Belfast Bay.
