When you stay at an old inn one's expectations should be tempered with the fact that they are old and some things are not going to be perfect. With that said the Florida Inn's south wing is going to fall down soon. The floor sloped at least 3 inches across the room. I think that the foundation is collapsing and it should be condemned. The room door knob was so loose it had 1/4" gap behind it. You would think that their housekeeping would tell the management about such things. The black mold around the tub was so much it looked like it was painted black. The unsealed wood plank wall around the toilet smelled of urine. The A/C drains onto the walkway which is epoxy painted roofing so it's very slippery all the time. The bed was hard. Breakfast was late and it was actually the worst I have ever had. B&B's usually have a very nice breakfast (maybe because they are so $$$) but, I've had better on a Navy ship (& Holiday Inn). We left and got something at a nice cafe nearby. However, the bar opens a half-hour late as well. The place falling apart with rot, mold and broken features everywhere. Trash on the front porch including a cigarette butt ground out on the metal bistro table that no one cleaned up for two days, and the sewer manhole in the courtyard will make you throwup. On another note, it is right next to the best bar in town with a full stage and usually great music. You should know that it's very loud until about 11:00 PM but I didn't mind that too much. I came for the live bands anyway. Bottom line, it looks like no one is managing the Florida House. Too much??? It's completely for real. Oh, almost forgot to mention the bedbugs.

Top notch historical inn. Great location and lots of history. You are literally in the middle of downtown. Rooms are clean and unique. Great staff and they have a restaurant and bar.

The bar next door is so close! Too noisy! Rooms are small, dated, nothing I would call bed and breakfast. More like an inn behind the bar. No welcoming host, just someone hands us our key. Too tired to check out now, but if the bar doesn’t quiet down soon, we’re going to leave.

I really wanted to love this place! It was cute. But their bed was terrible, it was an old spring bed. Pillows very flat and hurt my ears to sleep on. The comforter was still wet and smelled like mildew. Their is a very cool popular bar next door with a live band that plays until 11pm. So if you have one of the outside rooms you hear everything! From our door you can see the band. Breakfast was bad too :/ Quiche was cold or gone. The yogurt was frozen solid. The shower was clogged. I was able to fix that but then the hot water would turn on and off and the pressure would go down to a trickle. Overall it was a good idea and has potential but fell short every time.

From what I understand pets are not allowed. Service animals are allowed.
We stayed this weekend and there wasn't one. Only breakfast
This is not the place for that.
Possibly no vacancies?
