Courtyard by Marriott Rockford

After a long day travel was glad to have a clean room with everything working. I was up early and the staff was willing to make fresh coffee for me even though it was before their breakfast hours started.

We stay at Marriott whenever available because of its high standards. I can tell you with certainty I'm however, that this Courtyard in Rockford was not up to Marriot standards. The front staff was nice, and the lobby has been deceptively remodeled, but the rooms were dingy, the carpets and furniture all had stains, and our room had a strong smell of vomit in one area. We would have asked to change rooms, but it was already late after a long day of driving. But seriously, I've never seen a hallway with so many gross splatters and stains, and I just felt generally gross staying here. Another reason we stay in Marriott is for the crowd it attracts, who are typically quality fellow guests. This Courtyard, however, seemed to attract a less savory crowd, including a family who were verbally assaulting one another in the open courtyard in the center of the hotel at 6 AM and were there loitering and being rowdy at least until we left. Again, we usually expect to avoid these situations by staying in Marriott. Ultimately, I was very dissatisfied with our stay here, and worst of all, of the 4 Marriott hotels we stayed in on our recent road trip, this was the most expensive one.

I was in Rockford visiting a family member a few days ago, and I needed a quick place to stay. Decided to check in at the courtyard and I was pleasantly surprised with the service. Front desk man was very polite, the lobby was clean, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Housekeeper Tyler was very polite bringing me extra blankets for my room, and overall I felt welcomed and comfortable during my stay

I was here on business and their conference rooms are very nice, they offer wide tables suitable for laptops and other office related items. They have a beautiful courtyard where your guests and yourself could relax. Overall it was an excellent experience.
