Hands down, the worst campground we have EVER been to! And we’ve camped a lot. Booked a site over the phone just a few days before we arrived. Told the man what we wanted to do there( swimming, paddle boarding, fishing a renting a motor boat). We get there- it’s a dump. Walk into office- a friendly lady greets us. She informs us- that there’s no getting in the water! An algae bloom that’s been going on for awhile. And she says there’s no motor boats- only row boats. It’s 100 degrees out. So the whole time- we sat in our RV. My husband fished a little from the disintegration of the dock. Trash everywhere. No toilet paper in the bathrooms. Horrible

Beautiful lake view. Beautiful sunrise view. And also sunset. And the train is right behind you, we liked it, but it’ll wake you up. Haha.

The campground is fairly nice itself. Can tell the new owners are working hard to make it really nice. The new owners are very friendly and go out of the way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The tent sites are far from the bathhouse. The lake is not swimmable but you can boat in it. I would highly recommend bringing in your own water for drinking since the tap water has nitrates in it. As others have mentioned it is a long drive on a gravel County road and the train track is very close and busy as is the I-90 freeway (although the nearest exit and entrance to the freeway is quite far).

We tent camped here a couple years ago and the campground itself was fine, though the drive there is long and you may wonder if you’re going the right way. Be aware that the trains run through this campground regularly. All. Night. Long. The crossing is literally at the campground so the trains sound their horns as well. If you are light sleepers, do yourselves a favor and skip this one.
