Obviously all the one star reviews are about the pharmacy. I used to good interactions with the staff, I mean, the pharmacist is always professional with patients picking up the prescriptions. Now there is a pharmacy tech, who supposedly has been working there for years, and her name is Carol. Let me tell you about Carol, she is the most unprofessional staff member there. She tries to act like she is the pharmacist and make s decision with out consulting with the pharmacy, like not ordering medications because to her, the seem to be expensive and “they” who I think it’s just SHE doesn’t want more meds sitting on the shelf with no pick up. I’m a health care professional, and in mo way is she allowed or has the authority to not fill a patient’s prescription because of the cost. The doctor sends in a prescription, and the pharmacy fills the RX. But CAROL takes it upon her self to make the decision for you. Which is illegal. She cannot dictate if you can or cannot afford your RX. In my professional opinion, she should be fired. She has not done this once, but numerous times. I’ll be coming in to talk to the main pharmacist regarding her unprofessional behavior to patients and making illegal decisions without consulting the Pharmacist. I’ve had too many instances with her, and I hope the pharmacy can correct this before someone dies due to CAROL making unauthorized decisions regarding patients prescriptions. I’m also honing the report her to the Washington health department.

The workers here are always top notch and are obviously doing their best. The location on the other hand is run down and and always has drama in the parking lot. I wouldn’t show up here with out protection or street smarts. Keep your head on a swivel.

I stopped by to get my flu shot. I was there approximately 40 minutes before I actually got my shot. I was the first person in line. I had to ask the pharmacist for a print out of vaccine proof! I watched as the assistant opened bottles of pills, dumped them into plastic bins and patted the capsules down with his bare hands. No latex gloves used by the assistant or the pharmacist (except when I was given my shot.) There are many reasons I do not use this pharmacy - I only went there because Spanaway Pharmacy wasn’t getting their vaccines until next week. I should have put it off until then.

I used to love this rite aid but they have a new check out person named Krystal and she is really really slow and it’s takes her over ten minutes to get through one customer. I feel for her but this is a fast paced type of job so I’m hoping they find someone soon who can get through the lines at a better speed. Waiting in line for almost an hour is not okay.
