Detox clients do not receive visitors during their stay. Residential clients may have a visit the first weekend they are here, provided they have been admitted before Thursday. If they are admitted on Thursday or Friday, they will receive a visit on the 2nd weekend they are here. Clients who are admitted to residential as a transfer from Detox may have a visit the first weekend they are on the residential unit.
30 or 31 days
Hello! It varies based on funding (i.e insurance, etc...) Can be 2-4 weeks based on coverage and/or funding sources.
Turning Point has multiple funding sources that may cover the cost of treatment. Medicaid would be the major funder, but in addition there is funding for clients from certain counties in New Jersey, some welfare initiatives and state grants depending on residence, age and other demographics etc. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the admissions department who will be able to provide them with payment options.
You may be re-admitted after 30 days has elapsed from the date of your discharge.
My son has been there 9 days and I haven't heard from him or his counselor. You can only make calls when your with your counselor and if they allow it. 9 days he should have seen a counselor by now. I called there to talk to SOMEONE HIS COUNSELOR, ANYONE... THE CALL IS TRANSFERRED AT LEAST 3 X. AND NOT BY A HUMAN .PERSON. NO ONE ANSWERS. THE PHONE.. .EVER!!! So, I write my son there, (after 2 days off trying to get the patient mailing address).. I mailed 2 letters on a Tues and the following Wednesday.8 days later he still hasn't gotten his mail. This place cares about no one but themselves.. They don't answer phones. Counselor doesn't call with any info whatsoever. AND VISITING IS ONE DAY A WEEK WHICH IS FINE.. BUT IT'S ON SUNDAY FROM 9-11AM. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.. PARENTS OUT THERE.. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO SEND YOUR LOVED ONES
If you have medicaid you can call the transport number but if u know for sure the date of your discharge u must call the transport 2 days ahead of time the name of company is logisticare
We do complete Withdrawal Management and have a comprehensive Withdrawal Management program. We will assist clients in WM from methadone, the client can be prescribed no more than 30mg at time of admission. We do detox from Xanax, but we are not a hospital based program, so this protocol is dependent on the client potential co-occurring medical conditions, amount of Xanax use, length of time using etc.
No, Turning Point does not provide long-term treatment at this time.
No blackout period per se, see comment above regarding visiting.
You may be re-admitted after 30 days has elapsed from the date of your discharge.
Turning Point will maintain patients on methadone or suboxone as prescribed by their personal physician or clinic. Turning Point will not adjust doses of OMT ordered and managed by an physician or health care practitioner.
Hello, up to four visitors can visit at one time.
In order for us to determine that, you must go through the admission call center.
It would be nice if one of your so called compassionate counselor s would answer this question.

How long is the wait for female detox? And what’s the protocol for opioid/heroin withdrawal? Suboxone or methadone?
Detox length of stay varies by protocol designated to reported substance use. On average, detox length of stay can range from 5-7 days
The current wait time depends on the level of care being requested. Detox admissions occur weekly from Monday-Saturday. Residential Admissions vary by bed availability. Detox wait time can vary from a same day admission to as little as a 1-2 day wait period. Residential wait times can range from a same day admission to a 1-2 day wait.
If a box of clothes was mailed to a particular client, belongings will be provided to the client as early as the day the package was received. Drop offs that occur by mail over the weekend are usually distributed to client on next business day if left delivered or the mailing service will wait until Monday to deliver. Packages received via mail anywhere from 8-4pm Monday-Friday is provided to client that evening.
Letters can be sent as early as the day following admission.
Visitation is arranged with their primary counselor. If a client is admitted on a Monday, depending on assigned unit, visitation can occur as early as Saturday or Sunday. Detox admissions are not provided visitation times.
Money is placed on the client’s account for toiletries if needed. A transportation hold is set for each client in order to secure a form of transportation home. Any money placed on client’s account will first be used to fulfill the identified transportation amount.
In order to obtain public funding in New Jersey, you have to prove you are a New Jersey resident with ID.
Smoking is permitted outside of the facility - not in the facility. We have a set schedule with "smoke breaks" from the clients. Clients are permitted to smoke during these breaks. Clients are permitted to bring in personal care products although anything with alcohol is not permitted.
Smoking occurs at designated times depending on level of care. Clients are allowed cigarettes in closed packs (no vapes, loose tobacco)
Detox length of stay varies by protocol designated to reported substance use. On average, detox length of stay can range from 5-7 days
We accept Medicaid funding and insurance, we have multiple grants to assist people with accessing services who do not have traditional insurance.
Two to three changes of clothes (comfortable pants and shirts) 2-3 sets of underwear and socks, sleepwear and slippers, an appropriate coat or jacket depending on the time of year and one pair of shoes or sneakers. Flip-flops and sandals are not allowed. Basic grooming necessities are also suggested (toothpaste/toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant, brush/comb.) Towels and be linens are supplied.
Clients may have clothing to accommodate them for seven days. Washer and dryer is available on the premises . Storage space in the room is limited and cannot accommodate more than 7 days’ worth of clothing.
Clients may use the telephone to make calls during their visits with their primary counselor. They do not have unlimited access to a phone during their stay. Federal confidentiality laws prohibit Turing Point staff from contacting family members without the express written permission of the client. Family should encourage their loved one to sign a release of information form with their counselor when they meet with him/her for the first time and ask that their family be involved in their treatment. The counselor can then call the family and provide his or her contact information, discuss treatment progress and aftercare plans.
