No problems at all, some advice to all this is to help. Please take it as such. No need for negative feedback. I did not write the rules, requirements, or anything else. I've had two Service Dogs and these are the steps I took, and achieved the purpose I needed to. Read / Ask Questions / Contact by Phone / Veterans go through your VA. Contact the Service Animal POC at your VA, Below are the steps I took and had no issues. 1. Get a letter from your Doctor stating that your quality of life would improve by having a Service Dog. Your (NEED) has to meet requirements to qualify with a Disability according to the ADA. * No there is no official certification, Take your and read the American Disabilities Act (ADA). 2. Find the POC, "If" you want insurance through the VA they will have a list of Training Centers they approve. I signed a document opting out of the insurance. * Even if you turn down the insurance they can still provide you with the list of training sites they use. 3. Go through a basic handling course. Pretty much any chain pet stores provide this training. Must training sites I've seen a basic handling and obedience evaluation will be given. I have seen animals denied for not having the basics. Ask questions, think how many different tasks are out there to assist people to improve their daily activities. * Take your and read the American Disabilities Act (ADA). Do your research / Read everything for yourself / Ask questions even if you think you know. (You know nothing) / Get contact numbers, most importantly names of contacts. Veterans go through your VA.

They help so many vets with service dogs and also have guide dogs for the blind.

You can contact them and be put on an adoption waiting list. Maybe consider helping out volunteering
