My mother stayed at Little Neck after her hip replacement. The care she received was detrimental to her recovery. She is now back home and on the road to recovery. The manager Steve along with the entire staff treated my mother with kindness and made sure that she received the care she needed. My mother often expressed how good everyone was to her. I was very pleased and grateful to have had her there. Thanks to all at Little Neck Care Center!

My family chose LNCC in part because of the solid google reviews. Since our experience was so very different, I felt compelled to balance the scales by sharing our experience. The only thing consistent for us was that the staff could not get anything right. Mom came to LNCC quite weak after a 6 days stay in the hospital. Her 5 day isolation area was not isolation at all, she was with 3 other patients. No other room became available for her during her short time there. She was barely audible with 3 other televisions going non-stop. On paper they "seemed" to have a plan for her, but the staff does not communicate with one another and therefore was unable to execute at all. Something as basic as orders for oxygen - which should have been 24/7 uninterrupted, as well as being unable to determine how this patient handle toileting. So that in an attempt to respond to toileting needs, we had an aide disconnect her IV and then abandon her at the doorway of the room bathroom when she saw mom could not stand up. Her medical record should have indicated bedpan assist. It is doubtful anyone checked. As for the bare minimum care -getting a heart patient her oxygen -we found Mom without her oxygen day after day - whether it was the cannula was hooked over the bed headboard - or the oxygen machine itself was turned off. Such basic life care not even in place! Astounding. Food requests/requirements (which matter for someone with congestive heart failure) were equally as dismal. And tho food services does bring the food trays to the floor, the CNA's have to deliver the meals to each patient, so if they are busy helping patients with other daily tasks, food just doesn't get delivered. While we would not go as far as to say their lack of care caused her death - they certainly offered nothing in the way of the medical care needed to keep her alive. Other facilities may be as poorly staffed as LNCC but please don't be swayed by the positive reviews. Submitted by a daughter wanting to spare someone the pain experienced during mom's last days of life!
