This is a great campground with a very nice beach to swim in the lake. The restrooms and showers are super clean. The spots are nice and taken care of. The beach is super nice, it has a concession stand and dog friendly swim areas!

Loved the campsites♥️ The beach is a close walk or bike ride. Clean area to picnic or swim.

Great state campground. Clean facilities, new fire pits and picnic tables. Bath houses are clean and rangers are around every day. My only criticism is not the campgrounds fault just the location. The road to the campground seems to be a truck route and can be pretty noisy.

They are not allowed in the sand area but there is grass just before the beach that they're allowed. And if you walk just past the roped off swim area they can enter the water there. We had our dog and thought it was a nice area. There are even poop bag stations

Verizon and Boost both worked for us.
Depends if you have a water & electric or just electric. But overall, compared to other campgrounds very affordable. You can plan your site and time and it gives you the total. I don't know that portage has water sites yet though.
Yes, they are one of the state park campgrounds that are open year round. The water may not be available but the bathhouse should be open.
No
