Always loved this library and they have good events. Love the art shows and the book sales. Taking away a star because the front desk people that are there now are miserable. When I was there one day they were making fun of an elderly woman who needed a lot of help but was obviously one of the many nice, bored elderly people in this town who just want someone to talk to. I was shocked. When I checked-out, the woman behind the counter didn't even greet me and looked annoyed I was there. Thankfully they have a self-checkout machine which I will be using from now on.

Wonderful support from the research staff. I had many questions and a steep learning curve in a variety of areas and Kaity patiently answered all of my questions. Hart Library is a very pleasant place to be.

This is a wonderful public library. I’m a school librarian in the city and it is wonderful to have a quality library like this near home. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the collection is excellent. I especially like that they have Playaways and significant access to ebooks through the Libby app.

Yes! We have a variety of programs for children of all ages that are free. Many are drop-in while some require registration. For an ongoing list of programs please visit our website: https://www.yorktownlibrary.org/programs/children/programs
Hello Elizabeth, The next available time to drop off book donations will be November 1 - 7. We actually just closed the September donations. Our Friends of the Library manages the donations and they schedule volunteers to sort and move and store all the books. They accept donations here at the library from the 1st - 7th of every month, with the exception of October when they have their annual book sale. Hope you can stop by the sale this year from Oct 15 - 18!
Hi- You can request a DVD by searching our catalog: https://catalog.westchesterlibraries.org/eg/opac/home or call the library at 914-245-5262 and speak to a member of the reference staff.
Porch Pickup is Monday and Thursday 10am-7pm. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10am-5pm. As always please check our website as the hours may change.
The Friends of the Library will not be accepting any book donations in 2020.
I understand our current hours do not work for you and I know how important browsing is to patrons. We have just created an online browsing tool for the time being. I hope it helps. You can take a look at it here https://www.yorktownlibrary.org/new-items/ Eventually we hope to extend our hours as long as the numbers remain low. This is our first week opening the building and we are really doing the best we can.
I'm sorry, not at present. We have not yet reopened to the public.
Hi John, No we are not accepting book donations at this time. Thank you for your inquiry!
