One of the worst banks in town! Horrible mortgage department, the worst. It's unfortunate because they have some original CenterState people that are great, but they get you in then you have to deal with all phone people that aren't local, they are incompetent and don't care. If you care to know why - our homeowners insurance sold, I gave notice to SouthState to provide their mortgage information to new insurance company, lady on phone said no problem. They didn't take care of it got a cancellation notice, called SouthState again (only can deal with remote people & departments) she basically told me they called left a message with insurance company and it was up to me to obtain insurance and nothing they could do. I hung up called back got another person willing to help me, he got all information & would handle. He did not, got a final cancellation notice had to pay out of pocket for insurance, 3 days later SouthState sends insurance company premium and I had to deal with getting refund. Now get insurance notice I have to provide SouthState proof of insurance from 6/11/22-6/14/22, yes that is FIVE (past days) or they will purchase for me. Really? My original policy went through 6/14/22 that they had a copy of from beginning of loan a year ago. If I can stop one person form using this bank this was worth the review. Go local!!!

Wanted to open an account. The teller ran a credit check and refused to open an account. Not going to go back and won't recommend them

They got a glitchy app that you have to fight to get to get on ,also gave me faulty bank card that doesn't work half the time I'll be changing banks real soon
