The staff is wonderful. However, I leased from a couple that has screwed over sp many tenants I can't forget or forgive. They robbed me. It's almost funny. They already are dead.

I have lived here for 14 years and own two units in the building. While the building is nearing its 60th birthday, it is still in great shape. All the inspections are up to date and the association gets regular reviews of its budget and capitol projects to ensure that the building remains safe. As an older building, you get cool things like more space, beautiful original parquet flooring (if it hasn't been replaced), large balconies, ample parking, and thick, concrete walls that mitigates noises from the neighbors. In these 14 years the building has done a remarkable job of updating and improving. Off the top of my head, we've had new chillers, new boilers, new plumbing, concrete repair, new lobby, new rec room, new party room, renovated laundry rooms and regular washer/dryer equipment updates, renovated hallways, new elevators, updated gym, and updated pool. But because the building is old, has 504 units with 1000+ people in it, and backs up against a creek, you may see the occasional bug. There is regular pest control paid for by the association and individual units can always ask for extra visits. Being in an urban area, pests are inevitable - I have friends who live in brand new luxury apartments/condos that face similar problems to the Carlton with pests. In my 13 years I have never had a pest problem in either of the two units I own. The community is very friendly - and pet friendly too. Management does a remarkable job, especially given everything they need to deal with on a daily basis. They are running a multi-million dollar annual budget building with 1000+ people. All the staff are friendly and professional, and care about the community as if it were there own. Bottom line - is the building perfect? No. But it is well-run, in a great location, and amazing value for your money.

City living at its best. Gorgeous building for its age, nice amenities, near to everything! Just a few minutes from the airport and DC. The best part, it's nowhere near as expensive as Roslyn or Crystal city!

I recently moved into the Carlton. The management staff and HOA board have been outstanding. They've assisted me with getting my condo's renovation approved, keeping me informed about events and pool renovations, and have been a pleasure to talk with. The neighbors seem nice and the majority of people are friendly. Great things are happening in the building, i.e., a brand new pool after renovations are complete, the lobby was recently renovated, and garage and balconies repairs. Also many community activies to engage people. I'm looking forward to many happy years here.

Why the floor around the swiming pool doesnt clean or power washed last year and this year too.Looks ugly dirty .please the concrete floor need to be clean ok.

for move -ins they ask you to park your pick up or moving van just outside the garage and walk the 50 feet to the elevator
