worst customer service. I had sent my application for 3 times for various reasons. Last time they said they never received my documents even though to their fedex shipment saids that they have received the application already. Worst experience of my life. This is for Washington DC location. Felt helpless for being Indian citizens out of the country.

Have travelled to many countries and applied many visas. So far applying to New Zealand visa through this VFS center has been the most terrible and unprofessional experiences of my life. Not just visa, but in general any application. One month ago i started sending them emails, with absolutely no response from them. More than 2 weeks since visa has been approved and all fees paid, and my passport is just sitting at the VFS office, 2 WEEKS!!! Nobody responds to the email. The number provided on the website is a recorded tape with no option to talk to anybody or even check status. Sent about 20 emails already to 3 different email ids listed by the NZ team. It is weird that in person appointment is readily available everyday (So that means its not even the issue of any backlog) They just dont have any defined process or even willingness to reply to the email. Note: The actual visa approval process was less than 48 hours from doc submission to e-visa generation, but that is not VFS, its the actual NZ immigration. VFS processing on the other hand is just going on for a MONTH. GIVE ME BACK MY PASSPORT!!!! Update 10/05/22: Received an email back from VFS team saying that if payment has been made then just keep waiting for the shipment labels. Wow, even officially they are responding to just "keep" waiting. Literally takes less than a minute to print the label and keep it in the mail pick up basket, but nope -- keep waiting. They are sending the shipment label through a horse cart i think. Update 10/06/22: VFS office suggestion through the email is to come personally to VFS office in DC to collect the passport. Fedex shipment fees has already been paid and they want me to fly 3 hours instead to collect the passport. Any doubts that I had has been cleared now. This is a clear scam by such a big company - Taking shipment money and forcing people to come personally to the office instead since they know how important a passport is, and people will let go of that shipment fees. Will need to spend another $800 approx to collect the passport due to immediate flights, hotel etc. Also, filed a complaint today with Better Business Bureau against this scam.

absolute scammers and professional liars. they have my passport for more than 2 week for the NZ visa passport verification. they told me today that it was shipped (after 2 weeks of calling and checking in), but the tracking number does not reflect any updates. they tell you to DM from twitter, but no response there, too. I'm actually thinking about pursuing legal action if I don't have my passport shipped until tomorrow in district court. Case ID 206789. I don't think they're going to help, but just avoid them if possible at all costs. Apply for NZ visa while in Australia. update: dm'ed them and, of course, no response. they just keep putting these automatic replies to appear as if they're providing customer service. update: they're telling that they have usps'ed it last week but the tracking does not reflect this. i think liars all the way through.

Walk-in is permitted, but be prepared to wait, if you don't have a scheduled appointment. You can check with their office as far as certain country visas.
Vfs office not near to embassy
Yes. It's in the building. It's paid valet parking.
Most parking buildings are around $13/hour around there, as of July 2022. There's occasionally paid street parking, but its rare. I'd check K Street (just south of the building) for parking too - as people move in and out of spots all day.
It is not a scam company. However, they are ridiculously hard to get in contact with. You have a better chance of getting some help by walking in. They charge a $75 walk-in fee though. Or you can reach out to them on Twitter but even with that, they will answer initially and won't answer again afterwards.
Unfortunately, this is the system and it’s so very gray. 😩 They may be overwhelmed with appointments right now, but just keep checking. It said that for me at first and it was very frustrating. I still kept checking and found an appointment last minute for the next week of that same month. It did cost more for the last minute accommodations to fly there,but I’m just glad it’s behind me. Hope your experience is better. 🙏🏽
They do it for all. Although for Canadian visa, I could just mail in my application and passport and not really appear for an interview in person: my biometrics were done upon entry into Canada

We were in a similar situation last week. You can visit them in person with a valid reason why you need to expedite the process. They will take your papers and most probably will ask you to collect the passport from consulate the next day.
Did you fillup re-issue form? if yes, it should be right top under the bar code.
You have to contact the Embassy or Consulate of India for this. You have to fill the form online and give reason as "damaged passport" They give it to you in about a month.
