The police officers at this DMV have a very important role in maintaining safety and order; they are very friendly more times than not, but bear in mind that their job is to keep you safe which will sometimes mean that their friendly demeanor is not the priority. I have only experienced very professional behavior from these officers and expect most would concur.

In Virginia you can walk in Tue, Thr and Sat (if office has Sat hrs.) They helped me with registration snd title things efficiently. Should handle any problrm. Mon, Wed and Fri are appointments only.

What I experienced is that you need to keep checking everyday snd multiple times a day. Changing the office may help. In my case, I was unable to get one for sterling location but for the same day I was able to get one in a different office but later on the same day I got appointment at sterling office.

You do need an appointment. They do not entertain walk-ins. I have seen people being denied entry. Many driver license can be renewed online. I would suggest try doing that first, and only if system prohibits you from doing that, schedule an appointment.

They release appointments periodically, they are booked up through November when I scheduled mine they may be for the rest of the year now. Check back daily some people cancel and you can get last minute appointments.

I assume you're asking for Road test exam. It actually depends on your instructor but usually it takes between 10-20 minutes.
