Great place to kayak. Little or no traffic and there is a hiking path/Biking path opposite of the boat launch. This is a hidden gem just off the main street in Waterloo.

I've been going here since I was a kid. It has a boat launch, bathrooms and even a shower. I wish they hadn't put in the "glamping" spots but even then, the park is still nice and it's still free. The gazebos for rent are fairly priced too, but I can't remember the exact pricing.

I've kind of grown up around this park as I've been there a thousand times and used to live on Oak St. Its a lot nicer now with the rec center, pavilions, bathrooms, and sturdy boat docks. The only negative is there is a trail that goes out to the tip of the island and I frequently come across some shady people hanging out or even possibly living there.
