Evidence in Clinton, MD is fantastic! From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted by name, the entire staff is so concerned about my well being. The stretches and movements have me feeling so much better. I can sleep!! The staff checked on me as I was doing each exercise. The therapists made sure that I was not in pain as they worked on my neck. Every thing was constantly being cleaned. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs Physical Therapy! If I ever need it again. This will be the place for me. Thank you soo much Evidence, Clinton!!

One of the best places to get PT at. The folks here care about you, your progress and really listen to you. I had surgery on my rotator cuff and at one point, I had gotten frozen shoulder; Emmanuel worked his magic and with his skill and my want to get better...this duo worked it out. Im so happy that I'm on the other side and have full mobility of my shoulder. Please if you see the staff here...ask for the VIP treatment. It's an inside joke there but please go see them, they are all professionals and always make you feel like a priority.

My experience at Evidence was great as always. I met Emmanuel at the Bowie location approximately 3 years ago and I was very pleased with the professional work that his team did there for my knee. This year I needed therapy for lower back nerve damage. Emmanuel and the staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating and at giving me the proper skills needed for me to maintain a healthy back.

We do treat balance and movement disorders using proprioception and balance training exercises and activities. We specialize in balance and inner ear conditions. The most common conditions we treat are Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, and Vestibular Hypofunction. Most types of dizziness are treatable with physical therapy (PT). If it is a type that needs follow up with a Neurologist (an ear nose and throat doctor that specializes in dizziness) or a Neurologist (such as Arnold Chiari malformation) We will let the patient know where to go. Our physical therapists hold a comprehensive vestibular rehabilitation certificate. Read more here (https://evidencept.com/physical-therapy-treatments/balance-therapy-fall-prevention/)

What is the Alter-G?

Evidence Physical Therapy | Oct 6, 2021

The Alter-G (also known as the Anti-Gravity treadmill) is a special treadmill used in rehabilitation, built after NASA technology. We use this equipment in our practice to help patients who suffer from ankle, foot, hip, obesity, knee pain or back pain to regain normal walking pattern. This special treadmill helps the patient’s treatment without the harsh foot to treadmill impact experienced by the effect of gravity. When on the Alter-G treadmill, the impact of your body weight could be reduced up to about 80% as compared when walking on land or on a regular treadmill. How do we monitor patient heart rates during treatment?

Evidence Physical Therapy | Oct 6, 2021
Evidence Physical Therapy | Oct 6, 2021

We have a pulse oximeter in every clinic to measure heart rate and blood oxygenation and every clinic has a blood pressure. For our concussion patients we perform a Buffalo Concussion Treadmill test to determine their particular heart rate threshold and progress them safely per protocol. We ask that diabetic patients bring their glucometer with them to therapy to monitor with blood sugar as it can decrease with exercise and that they not take their insulin right before they come to therapy otherwise their blood sugar will drop too rapidly.

What is Alter G and Smart Fit used for?

Evidence Physical Therapy | Oct 6, 2021
Evidence Physical Therapy | Oct 6, 2021

The Alter G is used for anyone who would benefit from the movement and strengthening that comes from walking but for whatever reason cannot tolerate full weight bearing on their legs. For example a person that cannot run due to knee pain with the motion can do so on an Alter G as their is less body weight on their knee. The Smartfit is used for neurological conditions, orthopedic conditions and can help our patients with cognitive changes as well. The activities you can do with the system range from low level to high level physical and mental training.
