We sent our little one from the time he was 2 until 3 here until we moved from Jacksonville. From the owner to the teachers we had nothing but wonderful experiences. Our little one always loved going, and we loved the care and time we spent here. I don’t trust a lot of people with my children, but I recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place for care and learning.

On September 15, 2021, I picked up my son around 3-5 pm. The female owner stated that the teacher called her into the classroom during naptime, around 12:00 - 12:30, to observe my son's breathing while he was asleep. The owner stated, "his breathing looks weird so just watch out for him." When checking his belly at home, it was undeniable that he was in respiratory distress, or what some call "retraction breathing." His SpO2 was instantly checked with a stat of 90. Never receiving a call about my son's significant concern is highly concerning, as well as the owner's lack of knowledge on safety. On October 2, 2021, I received my son excessively lethargic. When placed in him in his car seat, I instantly checked his belly, to which he was in significant respiratory distress. His SpO2 was taken, and he fluctuated between 85-87; again, I was never called or informed about his wellbeing. On October 15, 2021, I picked my son up I was informed that he had spilled liquid on his shirt needing to be changed into a new wardrobe. Later that night, I noticed two large swollen bruises on his thoracic spine during his shower. Around the bruises were severe black/blue individual teeth marks that had broken skin, and when I checked his newly changed shirt, he had blood on the inside. I messaged the owner that night and asked why I was not informed about this situation and why there was no incident report. She told me that she did not have any knowledge of this incident. I then sent her pictures of his two severe bite marks and asked to see the video recording of the incident. I was consistently refused by the owner to see the video of what occurred to my child and how it happened. Instead, the owner only provided me pictures of another child pinning my son to the ground, bitting him. She informed me that she could not show me the video due to other children's faces. I was consistently denied video on the case for two weeks. With this incident, I talked to the owner at Little Temples in the front left room. She stated she would "write the child up because this is not his first time biting." She also informed me that "there is only one teacher in the classroom and many children; in the video, the teacher had her back turned because she was cleaning." Next, the owner began to provide me with the child's medical situation and the mother's issues with finding the proper care for her son. This information about the other child's medical condition is a HIPPA violation. On July 31, 2022, I contacted the owner about concerns about my son's care. I was repeatedly finding his underwear with entire fecal matter in it. However, when the lack of protocol compliance still occurred. I would receive my son with changed underwear, but he would have large amounts of fecal matter in his shorts/pants that he was forced to sit in for the remainder of the day even while I provided three complete sets of clean clothes at all times. The absence of fecal protocol is unacceptable, lazy, and unsanitary. Therefore, from me addressing this issue to the owner it resulted in getting our childcare terminated. If need be I am happy to share the screenshots of the messages. Because there was in fact no "abuse behaviors or words" at all. I just advocated for my child on what is unacceptable. FYI we were military childcare fee assistance customers for all you fellow military individuals.

As my son enters his 3rd year at little temples, all I can really say to the owners, teachers, and staff is thank you. Thank you for providing a clean and welcoming environment. Thank you for making childcare fun, he truly never complains about having to go to “school” and always has something new to talk about when we pick him up. Thank you for always going above and beyond to make sure my child feels like he’s special (I swear every time we drop off or pick up, it’s like he’s a celebrity with the toys, gifts and snacks they give.) And thank you for always running your business with families in mind. Your willingness to negotiate needs and timelines has always been an added bonus, but I suppose that’s what you get with a family owned business. I appreciate all that you’ve done in fostering the education of my son, keeping him safe and loved, and including our family in yours. Thank you!

We are so glad we chose little temples to look over our daughter during the week! They take great care of her and even on her rough days she comes home excited to go the next day. She’s learned so much since she’s started & has been for over a year now and still goin strong. Thanks! 😊
