Beautiful park. Quite clean. Sites a little short for motorhome, Dolly and car. Even unhooking dolly and getting it underneath as much as we could.

Lake was beautful to cruise around.Fishing was poor this weekend do to heat . campground was great. Full hookups are great. I think spring time fishing would be great. I'd recommend this place for a quiet weekend getaway.

Wonderful little campground! They upgraded the pads and installed water for each site.

Yes.. because... what is camping with out our furry kids? 🐶. All we ask is that they are leashed when outside and that you pick up after them. 😁
The campground was closed in Oct 21. The have some road improvement and electrical upgrades planned. Otherwise my experience has been at a couple other state parks in Southern Iowa that camping is allowed during winter months. However, bath/shower houses and water pumps will be closed for the winter. Generally electric is still available. Nearby Lacey Keosauqua SP is like this.
2 week max for staying. You can see if the Villages of Van Buren know of any longer term campgrounds.
Online reservations take priority, but people can drive in and if there is a site that is not reserved they can take it. Reservations online are reservable up to 5 days in advance. If less than that, can be reserved through the hosts with what is available or drop ins. Camp hosts can be reached at 319-293-3532
There is 2-12 full hookup and 13-22 water and electric only. Go to mycountyparks.com and each site has information that might help you and if it is available for the time you are looking for it. The 2-12 might be your best bet.
