Speaking with Cathy from NY Bar Association has been a pleasure. Although the Association was not able to help me, they provided me with referrals and step by step instructions. Thanks again Cathy!

I would like to file a law suit with MTA. I was beaten by a mentally/homeless person on the C train. No one came to rescue. Please advise
I suggest you stay with the lawyer because some people can't find lawyers, so you are lucky. If you need to represent yourself, go to the Supreme Court, civil court, at City Hall Station, NYC, 6 train. Supreme Court is on Center Street. Ask for the pro se Office. They are lawyers that offer guidence to self represented but no representation.

Common law marriages already established in other U.S. states will receive reciprocity in NY, however, NY does not have common law marriage.
