I don't have any other tax collectors to compare East Orange with, but, every time I have gone to pay my portion of the property taxes the cashiers at the window have been very helpful and knowledgeable and the wait has been short.

So google says they close at 6pm...I called 5 times and a lady picked up. I ask her about my tax increase and she rudely said we are closed and hung up. Very unprofessional

I've dealt with a wide variety of city officials, and never have I dealt with someone as miserable sounding as the woman I just spoke to. There was no "faking it to make it" with this woman. She was very rude when all I was calling for was tax status. I really wish East Orange would clean up their staff, and start hiring more professional people. I cringe a little when I know I have to call East Orange.
