My wife's union UFCW local 1262 stopped making her pension contributions in February,according to her July pension statement,4 payments were missing.When I called to find out why ,the pension benefits coordinator Jerry Strausser couldnt give me a valid reason why,and simply blamed it on Covid-19,and the fact that she was working from home.Why she is working from home,I dont understand,since my wife,and ALL THE MEMBERS of 1262 are not at home,but working in the supermarkets,right where they were when the pandemic started.I filed an online charge against the union,however,as it was my first time doing this,I filed the wrong charge.Annet Rodriguez contacted me,and actually talked me through the process online.Whatever the outcome of the process,I am grateful to Mrs. Rodriguez for going above and beyond the call of duty.Local 1262 could learn something from her,they need to get back to work at the union hall on Broad street,in Clifton,instead of hiding at home making excuses for what is either incompetence or enbezzling.Local 464A is my unions local,and they have not stopped working since the pandemic started,They are right where they should be at the union hall in Little Falls.Why isnt 1262 at their post?
