I moved from here for over 10 yrs and left when I moved to Georgia, I read the reviews and it should be noted that almost all the rave reviews are by guides who have never lived here. This place is for seniors 55+ including disabled seniors. You are allowed to keep a small dog and all the grounds are kept very nice. You can actually walk to restaurants and grocery stores and there are concerts on the beach in the summer. There are many activities and social events in the building if you are interested in meeting other residents. When they say the staff always greets you and knows your name i'm not sure who they are talking about because there were only less than 10 members that were employees.when i lived there. Most of us were never sure what the manager did and i never saw the rest of management and in general could have been more responsive. So expect to always follow-up They kept telling us they care but it didn't always feel that way. especially if you needed something. (It would be ideal if you had someone who can visit and even help fix things occasionally.) Maintenance is hit or miss and the head of maintenance seemed burned out and wasn't accountable to anyone. The workers kept changing and seemed a little lazy -- the good ones didn't stay. It could be loud at times when you can hear power tools and didn't know where or why. Would I recommend this place? Its probably the nicest low income place for seniors at the beach.(on the beach actually) or anywhere in Jacksonville and most residents seem happy. i always felt safe which is not always the case with HUD properties. You should apply ASAP because it could be years before you are called and you can always turn it down if you find another place. I recommend you call and ask the manager to send an app and floor plans. You probably won't be able to see an apt because they are usually full. -- get on the wait list ASAP and expect to wait a few years. Good luck!

If you are considering this place for yourself, or if you have any input in a loved one's life that is considering living here, please don't do it or advise against it. Pablo Towers is not safe. The staff are incompetent and do not care about the residents at all. There needs to be a significant reexamination of security protocols. Jacksonville Beach, like the rest of the world, is Not the same place it once was. There seems to be no accountability and an irresponsible attitude toward residents' safety in many aspects.

Jess McKelvin | Oct 6, 2019

Rent for a one bedroom is approximately $925.00 per month. If you can afford that with SS, pensions and/or other means you can skip the waiting list. The front office is amazing and will work with you to accommodate.

Denise Costello | Oct 5, 2020

As long as u have the correct paperwork to show they both are emotional support animals, there shouldn't be a problem. But typically 1 animal under 20 pounds is allowed per unit. ☺☺
