Hello! :) You should never have to pay an agency to start off in modeling. That is not how it works as agencies who charge an upfront fee are scams. The agency works for you and not the other way around. The only way an agency makes money is when you get booked for a shoot and 10% to 20% (depends on the type of shoot) of your paycheck goes to the agency. Also, don’t sign an exclusive contract unless it’s with an international agency (Next, IMG, Wihemina etc.) I know this from 4 years of experience in the industry. As many models who begin should sign with as many agencies as possible to get the most new amount of work until they are signed with a top tier agency like the ones mentioned above.
