The best campground ever!! It's right between the Sturgeon Valley river (which you can float all the way into town) and a bunch of old trails that you can take so you can take your bikes or snowmobile down(winter).

Dust bowl. campground roads are dirt/gravel, right on a high speed dirt/gravel road. To get there on a bike, its 1.8 miles of dust, or mud. At least the place could spring for some chloride for the 1/4 mile on either side. 1/2 " of dust on everything upon return home. Camp in town, much cleaner, as quiet, and no dirt road.

Abate of Michigan had over 250 people at this campground. The owners were so hospitable excellent host. Always ready to help with anything we needed. Clean bathrooms, and hot showers. Electricity for all who needed it. Cool breezes every night, awesome trails, Sturgeon River access to wade or jump in. We saw people tubing too. Totally fun for all.

The sites are bigger than normal compared to other campgrounds and the shower pressure here is amazing...We had a great time...my kids didn't like the rooster crowing, but I loved it and it got them up and motivated...we will definitely be staying here again!!
