I love unions. This is not a union. Teachers make almost the lowest in the US here. Benefits are terrible. The retirement plan is garbage. This is a black hole for money. We need a real teacher's union, not a toothless lap dog, content to lay in its own filth.

I was a member of AEA for almost 10 years. They took money out of my bank account twice month for almost a decade. The one time I needed help, not only did it take themselves days to do so, but then they assign a low grade lawyer to represent me in a serious case. I couldn’t even get him to answer Joan phone. I said forget it and got my own attorney out of pocket and they helped with NOTHING. So I get fed up with it and decide to cancel, they tell me the year cancelled my membership and never even told me bc I worked for a garter school. Save you’re time and money and pick you’re own attorney.
