I love this neighborhood Cafe. You wouldn't expect such a cool café in the middle of north Raleigh! The baristas are super nice, and I love the baked goods! Great space for working midday.

Absolutely love this place! The best flavored lattes I have ever had (and I have had a lot 😀). Their black coffee is also very good and I don't order black coffee anywhere else now. The staff is great! They have incredible looking baked pastries as well, but I can't even imagine the calorie count 😜. Their chocolate croissant is amazing!

I’ve been coming to Nora’s Cafe for a few months now to get work done and to study from time to time. Today I went to purchase food for the first time and requested that they remove jam from the sandwich and add tomatoes instead. This simple modification was ok’ed by 2 separate employees. While the cashier is taking payment, a 3rd employee comes from the back and states that absolutely no modifications are allowed, and I could not take off a simple jam… suppose I was allergic to either raspberries or jalapeños, does this still stand? Her tone of voice was rude and refuted what I had been told previously. I simply said okay, no problem and let it go. The cashier understood that it was harsh, and went to the back to talk to the other employee about it. The 3rd employee then stated that I could take off the jam yet I couldn’t add tomato on the side. Like come on, I even had a salad on the side - you couldn’t add tomato to my salad either? It was too much for a situation so small. The interaction felt like it was too much to experience for a simple sandwich, and I felt it was inappropriate. To be told that such a modification can happen, then to be told that it can’t be, followed by a half-granted request has left a bad taste in my mouth. I was grateful that the cashier was so kind and understood that the harshness of her counterpart was too much for any customer - let alone the only person of color in the shop at the time. I usually do not allow my complexion to take up unnecessary space - yet it did make me wonder if this would’ve happened if I was white, amongst other things. People will always remember how you treat them, and how you make them feel. My hope in writing this review is that management will be able to guide the employees at this shop to speak to customers with kindness, unless otherwise warranted. I didn’t deserve that service, and I decided to forego the sandwich altogether.

Looking at the map, I don't see one super close. But it's not too far (5/10mins) from Brier Creek, which is near the airport and has some nice hotels and restaurants as well. Could easily stay there, and drive/uber over to Maude's when you're ready to visit.
Masks required. Wax paper sheets to open doors. Outdoor seating.
