My rating is based off of a personal experience with their tiny treasures program. On March 3rd my daughter went to school excited for donuts with dad, and during that visit my husband noticed the looks and the tone that the teachers had with her. (We have previous concerns with her constantly getting in trouble) When it was time for pick up, her teacher ran up to my car before my daughter was brought out to me and told me my daughter “had to be put in a room by herself today. She was whining and complaining that she had no friends and that no liked her, so if no one likes her, then she can be by herself” I know some of you are thinking “well she likely brought some of this onto herself”, “she’s gonna have to learn”, And though I don’t completely disagree that she is a lot to handle, and requires lots of patience and guidance. I do not, and will never agree with telling a student that “if no one likes you then you can be by yourself” they isolated her with a piece of paper and a crayon since that was easier then actually dealing with her emotions. I know her experience could have been much worse, and for that I am grateful. I’m grateful the teacher in question told me what she said herself and what she felt was okay for discipline among 3 and 4 year olds so my daughter didn’t have to continue being in her care. Shirley has been very kind in allowing me to express my grievances, but when she asked for a report of that day it’s no surprise that what the teacher told me to my face wasn’t on that report. I really hope all of the teachers get re evaluated for their positions and this gets taken seriously.
