We stayed in this accommodation for one night. Unfortunately we didn't like the accommodation at all. The rooms were small, dark, dirty and smelly. There was a dead cockroach in our room. The interior is very old fashioned. The pool is very small. The parking spaces are directly in front of the rooms. We liked that. I can't understand how the hotel is rated so well but I don't have fond memories of that night. The air conditioning was about as loud as a jet taking off next to you. You couldn't sleep with air conditioning because it was extremely loud and you couldn't sleep without it because it was too hot.

Small rooms, A/C was not working well, then suddenly in the early morning it started to boost like hell. Normally you have a view, unfortunately in front of us there was a tree and bushes, so you only had a limited view on Monument Valley. Nice place to have a look at sunset / sunrise. Pool is good to have a refreshing dive on a warm day. All in all you pay the location (+ the lack of competition in neighbourhood) but price / quality is not OK.

Definitely the best stay during our entire 10 day trip! The view from our room was simply amazing! In fact, all rooms are facing towards the same direction with the view of the monuments (if you can, highly recommend to wake up a bit earlier to see the sunrise in your bed)! The restaurant in this hotel was ok. Their menu was pretty basic. Also don’t expect any alcohol because you are in the Navajo country. Note that the restaurant closes at 9 pm, so you will miss it if you choose to join the sunset tour.

We stayed for 2 nights at the RV Park. Staff was friendly, showers and bathrooms were clean. We had dinner one night at the restaurant, the staff was friendly, but the food was not very good. Sweet potato fires were cold (a new and hot batch was provided), we had the Navajo Tacos. We took the Deluxe Tour, and had read some very good reviews. It must depend on who your guide is. We did not learn anything about the area or Monuments, only about the movie's filmed in the area. We learned a little about the area, from listening to guides from other tours. We would have done better, doing the drive on our own with a map.

How is cell service out there? Is WIFI available?

Brooke Ewen-DelMastro | Mar 21, 2018

Verizon is your best option, but spotty coverage since the cell towers are few, and often blocked by the towering mesas. WiFi is available at the hotel, and will work fine for email, websites etc,. Don't plan on streaming movies though, as you are sharing bandwidth with every other guest, and it bogs down when many are using it.
